Usually the news of a friend’s pregnancy is a happy occasion – just not when she is your featured international DJ for a 2 gig tour. Only by a pure miracle were we able to replace Jo Mills with Tomas Hedberg when we found out that she was pregnant. A quick swipe of the credit card and he was on a plane to London to connect to our sunny SA, a little bit earlier then expected – but hey, we’re not complaining – no offence Jo. One great DJ from Ibiza replaced with an even better DJ from Ibiza – at no extra charge to our avid clubbers – done deal.

The reason we initially booked Jo Mills, besides her obvious skills, is because we wanted to set up a relationship with legendary promoter Charlie Chester, who most people in the house music industry credit the success of Ibiza to. Today they were both supposed to get on a plane and meet me at the airport in Durban, but on Sunday we received the news that Jo was pregnant. Unfortunately for us her doctor advised her not to fly due to her being in the first trimester and other complications.

Tomas Hedberg was our obvious next choice because he was next on our list to come out to SA, being the other driving force behind the Looking Glass at Pete Tong’s Wonderland. Tomas is one of the most well-known and respected djs in Ibiza. Besides the highest profile summer gigs and residencies at Pacha, Manumission, Eden, El Divino, and guest appearances at the islands highly respected underground and super club Space, Tomas is known for driving the local scene. He has held winter residencies at the islands most happening parties, from Pacha’s Fiasco to his 4 yr long residency at Guarana in Santa Eularia. More…..

So this Thursday and Saturday you are in for a treat of note, and don’t forget that Friday is a public holiday, and it’s the end of the month. You deserve a great party so bring your long distance dancing shoes. I’ll be the big bald, slightly overweight guy, in the VIP sipping on a cold Heineken with my new best friend - Tomas.

The Queen of Ibiza will be jetting in to South Africa to fit in 2 gigs before she plays with Pete Tong in Dubai, and then she takes up her residency with Pete Tong’s Wonderland at Eden in Ibiza. Last year it was the number one summer success story and Jo was as much a key player behind the scenes on the project as she was behind the decks, making the most of the opportunity to host her own room.

Jo was at the helm of ‘The Looking Glass’, while Groove Armada hosted ‘The Lovebox’ and Tong controlled the main room. From developing the concept and consulting on layout, décor and sound to programming the music and of course, headlining the room each week, this was a welcome challenge for the long-time Ibiza resident, consistently in high demand worldwide.

Jo describes her trademark style as house music with depth and fluidity. ‘I love deep, techy house with good grooves, rhythms and melodies and I enjoy building my sets to draw people in as I play - I love to keep the dance floor moving.’ It’s this style that has seen Jo maintain an extremely loyal fan base over the years, ensuring she is constantly invited to return to her favourite venues across the globe.

Combining this international talent with the best we have in SA, will definitely bring the masses to this anticipated event, but they better get their tickets early because Tour Promoters have limited the tickets to only 500 per event.
