BIOGRAPHY
If there is one DJ/producer that you are destined to hear more about it's
TOMAS HEDBERG. Born in Stockholm, Sweden, Tomas made the move to
Ibiza in 2001 after a 10year Tae Kwon Do career to begin what he now
lives for - Djing and Producing.
Raw, technical and deeply into his music, Tomas is not your average DJ
and has already been labeled as the Swedish Nic Fanciulli.Tomas is one
of the most well-known and respected djs in Ibiza. Besides the highest
profile Summer gigs and residencies at Manumission, Eden, El Divino,
and guest appearances at the islands highly respected 'Underground',
and super club Space, Tomas is known for driving the local scene.
He has held Winter residencies at the islands most happening parties,
from Pacha’s Fiasco to his 4 yr long residency at Guarana in Santa
Eularia.It was to be expected that International success would follow
from here.
Tomas's sound is becoming more and more in demand in the house
capital of Zurich. Currently holding a bi-monthly residency there, he has
played to over 80,000 people in 2 Zurich street parades, and at some of
the hottest clubs including Club Q - Supermarket - Maag Music Hall -
Minimarket - Hive - Aqua. In addition to this he has rocked dance floors
in some of the hottest dance scene centrals...London, Germany, Turkey,
Spain, Italy, USA, Belgium and recently Australia.
With a music taste that is catagorised as a tasteful selection of deep,
funk and tech, and a mixing style that has been described as
adventurous and creative emulating a warm darkness, Hedberg never
fails to please a crowd.
But his talent doesn't stop at mixing, Tomas has taken his career to the
next level with a strong musical knowledge that keeps his productions at
the forefront of the dance music scene. In demand for his remixes,
Tomas has shown his talent as he's spread across the genres from Pacha
Recordings to Rebirth Recordings to Pieces of Eight Records.
His latest originals have had support from some of the key DJ's
from around the world, creating stir amongst the industries key
players.
One of the hottest tracks of the moment 'The Looking Glass' has
been played out by Pete Tong as well as being featured various
times on his Essential Mix on Radio 1. His remixes including The
Physics Holding on and Friend by Silky Sunday have also had
plays on Sarah Mains Galaxy radio show.
But versatility is one thing that sets Tomas apart from other DJ's.
Each production he puts his mind too comes with its own piece of
magic.
His association with Pacha Recordings is tight having
remixed some of their biggest tracks including Carl Kennedy’s
Ride the Storm, and Bob Marley VS Richard Grey’s No Deputy.
This has received rave reviews being labeled as the best remix
even before it was released in May 08.
Currently working on a 5 EP deal for Pacha, and a series of
underground, tech pieces, Tomas bears his ability to flow between
styles.While his hard work seems to be paying off, the future can
only be bright for Tomas Hedberg.
The Summer of 2007 brought Tomas a deserved nomination for
'Best Ibiza dj' at the industry’s leading award ceremony, 'The DJ
Awards'. And the Summer of 2008 brought Tomas a residency at
Pete Tongs Wonderland. He was hand picked by famous
underground DJ Jo Mills to be her weekly resident in the The
Looking Glass room.
When asked what her top tip for 2008 is, she quotes:

Summer, he’s an excellent producer and a really skillful dj. He
knows how to build a set as well as rock a dance floor.
’
Churning out at least three new productions a week and playing at
some of Ibiza's most happening parties, Tomas is on the rise.
