Dino has been a pioneer of Dance Music in Africa over the last 16 years. As a true ambassador for Africa he has played at Madiba’s Christmas party and plays Bi annually to raise funds for the Nelson Mandela’s Children’s Fund in London. In his 16 year career Dino has played for every major club in South Africa and at various international events supporting artists such as Carl Cox, Paul Oakenfold, Deep Dish, Sasha and Digweed, David Morales, Gloria Gaynor to name just a few.
He has played on the BBC Radio 1 global millennium broadcast, twice on Pete Tongs Essential Mix and once on Danny Ramplings love groove dance party show. Dino is an artist in the true sense of the word. Everything that he produces is a reflection of his soul and inner beliefs. He is a truly passionate man who believes in taking African DJ’s to greater heights. Dino forges ahead to create his own genre of Rhythmic African Fusion combined with the hottest dance tracks in the world. He has a formidable talent in being able to read a crowd and adapt the music to the mood taking the crowd on a musical journey. He recently returned from Australia where he performed at the Commonwealth games festival with his African Live show “House of the Holy Afro”. This show has also toured Switzerland, Reunion, Germany, and Belgium & Austria. The show was part of the Life Ball 2005 and performed alongside artists such as Seal, Tiesto, Elton John and Liza Minnelli to name a few. Dino produced the music for M-Net’s Nokia Face of Africa show in 2005 and has just completed the 2006 show.
Working closely with International Show Choreographer Jan Malan to create groundbreaking contemporary African music, encapsulating the modernity of the Nokia Face of Africa model search. The Nokia Face of Africa was broadcast to 48 countries with an audience of 40 Million viewers and was broadcasted on NBC American Network with a viewer ship of 8 Million per broadcast. One of the many hats Dino wears is as the official Music designer and producer for Internationally acclaimed Choreographer Jan Malan. He has produced, compiled and mixed music for Elle Magazine, Life, Hip Hop, Phenomena, Funeka and many more top designers for Durban, Cape Town and South African Fashion week. He played an Epic 7-hour set for the MTN Durban Fashion Week official after-party hosted at Sun Coast Casino. Dino currently co-hosts a Radio Show called the Nightwatchman on Goodhope FM. He has co-hosted this show with Craig De Sousa for the past 3 years and is regularly featured on Roger Goode’s Saturday Night Surgery on 5FM. He is honoured to accept the position to represent Africa on a new global dance music station “Pulse FM”. Dino has held a 5 year residency at the Official 5FM J&B Met After-party. He has performed at top clubs in the UK, USA, Ibiza, Berlin, Melbourne and Sydney. His productions have been featured on “Defected”, the biggest Dance music record label in the world alongside artists like Bob Sinclair, Kaskade, Martin Solveig, Junior Jack and Kings of Tomorrow. He has released tracks on all 3 “Café de Afrique” compilations and produced the opening track on Manuel Ottel Perfecto Africa. His remix of Reddangel “Fabulous Day” received the accolade of biggest track of Ibiza during the 2003 season. International “DJ Magazine” this year featured Dino as one of their predicted global “Future Hero’s”. Dino has also produced music with fellow South African Musicians Loyiso, Mapumba, KB and Prime Circle. We are thrilled to announce that Dino is the appointed DJ to tour to London as a beneficiary of the Global Breakthrough, Music Trust created by Jamie Joseph. His tours ahead include a trip to Australia from the 8th November till the 13th November followed by his Global Breakthrough tour from the 16th November till the 19th November. He is in negotiations to travel from London to Hawaii to perform in Kona for a Groovelogic event before returning to South Africa. He will be producing all music for Mozambique Fashion week to be held from the 15th till the 17th of December. Dino in short is a man with vision, passion and dedication taking Dance Music to greater heights.
